How these free astrology tools work

Four calculators, all free and none of them asking for an account: your full janam kundli, Ashtakoota kundli matching out of 36, a daily horoscope for all twelve signs, and today's planet transits read against your own chart. Everything is computed from real sidereal positions using the Lahiri ayanamsa.

What each tool does

The four tools answer different questions and need different amounts of information from you. Matching needs two births. The kundli and the transit report need one. The horoscope needs only your sign.

  • Kundli matchingScores a couple on the eight kootas out of 36, then checks Nadi, Bhakoot and Mangal dosha on both charts separately rather than folding them into the total.
  • Your kundliCasts your full birth chart: lagna, twelve houses, nakshatra and pada, divisional charts, and your running Vimshottari dasha with dates.
  • Daily horoscopeReads the Moon's transit house from your sign along with the day's tithi and nakshatra. Available daily, weekly, monthly and yearly for all twelve signs.
  • Planet transitsShows where all nine grahas are now, counted from your natal Moon, with the classical gochara verdict, retrograde end dates and Sade Sati.

Why the positions are computed rather than looked up

Most free astrology sites interpolate from a stored table. These tools compute planetary positions from the same planetary theory used to produce an ephemeris, and the results are checked against the worked examples in the standard reference to the arcsecond. The Uranus and Neptune tables carry the published corrections.

All positions are sidereal, using the Lahiri ayanamsa adopted by the Indian government's calendar reform committee. That is the value nearly all Indian practice uses, and it is why a chart here places your Sun one sign earlier than a Western site does.

What a calculator cannot do

Every tool here computes. None of them interpret. A kundli shows you where the planets were; it does not tell you which of those placements matters for the question you actually came with. A guna milan score is eight arithmetic tests on two Moons, and it cannot see the seventh house, the dasha either person is running, or anything outside the chart.

That gap is the honest reason to talk to an astrologer rather than a reason to distrust the numbers. The numbers are right. Deciding which of them is load-bearing for you is a different skill, and it is the one the calculators do not have.

Questions about these tools

Are these astrology tools really free?

Yes. All four are free with no account, no trial and no paid tier hidden behind the result. Kismo earns from per-minute consultations with astrologers, not from the calculators.

Do I need to sign up to use them?

No. Nothing on these pages requires an account. You only sign in if you decide to chat with or call an astrologer.

Which ayanamsa and house system do you use?

Lahiri ayanamsa and whole-sign houses, which is the standard combination in Indian practice. The chart is drawn in both North and South Indian styles.

Can I use these without knowing my birth time?

The horoscope needs only your sign. The kundli and transit tools work without a time but will tell you plainly that the lagna and the houses are unavailable rather than assuming noon.

Is my birth data stored?

You can run every tool without an account. What is kept is covered in the privacy policy, which is linked in the footer of every page.
